Our Summer of PopChips
Filed Under Giveaways | 147 Comments
So remember back in July when the Red Sox were killing it? In fact, the Red Sox entered the All Star Break with the best record in the American League. All of Red Sox Nation was excited for what was to come. PopChips had a great promotion going on at that time to guess how many home runs Big Papi (David Ortiz) would hit in the HomeRun Derby that precedes the actual AllStar Game. The winner got a Summer Supply of PopChips.
Guess who won?

That's right, I did! Here's a picture of the awesome truck that delivered our summer supply of Popchips.
Have you tried Popchips? They are an awesome, all-natural snack chip with less than half the fat of a typical fried chip. And they are super tasty. The husband shared a few with his co-workers, too. After tasting how yummy the chips were and realizing that they were 100 calories for the small bag, the co-worker hopped on amazon and ordered himself a case of Popchips.
The folks at Popchips were nice enough to give away a case of Popchips to one of my readers! The case has 24 .8 oz. (single serving) bags of original flavor Popchips -- a perfect size for school lunches or to take to work.
Here are the deets on the contest.
There are three ways to enter to win the case of Popchips. Each task will get you on entry. (Maximum 3 entries per person.)
- Follow PopChips on facebook
- Follow kimworld.com on facebook
- Share your favorite healthy snack on twitter and be sure to include @popchipsBoston and @kimworld in your tweet.
Then leave a comment (be sure to fill out the email box so I can contact you) for each one of the entries from the above list by Monday, October 17, 2011 at 8 PM EST. One comment will be randomly selected to receive the case of PopChips. Valid in the continental US only.

Beautiful All-Natural Rose Cookies from Dancing Deer [and a Mother’s Day Giveaway!]
Filed Under Giveaways | 5 Comments
I cleaned out the car this weekend. Any parent of a toddler aged child can attest that this is a scary endeavor. To my surprise, it wasn't all that bad. No sippy cups!
However, there was a cheese flavored cracker. We don't regularly have these particular kind of cheese flavored crackers, but Grandpa does. So, evidently, Grandpa has been sharing some cheese flavored crackers with my toddler in the back seat on his last visit. First problem is that the cracker looked like it was brand new out of the box. Still crisp. Looked (but not tested) like it tasted the exact same as the day it got dropped. That's not good because of the second problem: Grandpa's last visit was 6, SIX, months ago.
What kind of preservatives go into a cracker that will keep it shiny and new for six months in the back seat of a car? I do not want to know, because I am pretty sure I won't want to eat it.
That's something that I love about the products of a local Boston company called Dancing Deer Baking Co. (Located in Boston but shipping and selling nationwide. Check here to see if your local store carries their products.) Their offerings are completely perishable products, and that's a good thing, people. Real food does not last forever. The bakery products are all-natural, baked from scratch, and kosher.
I've long been a fan of their Molasses Clove Cookies, so when I got a taste of their new whimsical floral sugar cookies, I was psyched.
Yum! They are an awesome bunch of buttery goodness. The icing is tasty, not too sweet, but just sweet enough. And they are beautiful. So beautiful that you might not even want to eat them. But then you will, and you will be delighted too.
Dancing Deer has a gorgeous display of these cookies in their Mother's Day Rose Cookie Bouquet. It's not too late to get one of these bouquets for the favorite mom in your life.

Dancing Deer Baking Co. wants to give you the chance to win one of their wonderful new Mother's Day Rose Cookie Bouquet, valued at $35.
To enter to win, leave a comment below with your plans for Mother's Day.
The contest closes on Wednesday, May 4 at 12 noon.

The Deets:
- Be sure to leave at least your first name and last initial along with your email so I can let you know that you've won.
- Winner will be selected by Random.org
- Don't count on receiving the giveaway before Mother's Day, although I'll certainly try to make it happen.
As usual, with anything that is written on this blog, all comments are my own. I was not compensated for this post by or on behalf of the Dancing Deer Baking Co., however I did get a taste of their new rose sugar cookie. And for that, my toddler and I were thankful. (It was a long, hard day on the ranch.)

Family Fun [and a Boston Giveaway!]
Filed Under Boston, Giveaways | 8 Comments
The last few weeks we've really been itching to get out of the house. It's great to have some options for indoor fun when the weather doesn't cooperate. Sometimes it's too cold, sometime's it's too hot, or sometime's it's just a hot mess of rain. (Repeat after me. I LOVE NEW ENGLAND. I LOVE NEW ENGLAND.)
Eversave Boston has an awesome deal for families today through Friday. For $10 you get $20 to spend on bowling at Kings Boston Back Bay or Kings Dedham. The voucher is valid for bowling, shoe rentals and table games at your choice of Kings locations.
Have you been to Kings? The facilities have 20 lanes, three bars, an on-site restaurant and over 30 HD TVs - a little something for everyone. In addition to bowling, your voucher is valid toward shuffleboard at the Dedham location and billiards at the Back Bay venue. The atmosphere is full of fun music and great vibes. The kids will love it. The babies may even sleep through it!
Kings has a 21+ policy after 6 PM, so keep that in mind when you think about when you'll use it. But while this is an awesome idea for the best playgroup event ever, you can also use this voucher for a great date night or mommy's night out event too.

Here's the best thing -- Eversave wants to give a reader one of today's saves at Kings for free! To enter, leave a comment with your favorite family activity.
If you're on twitter, get another entry by tweeting:
Contest ends Friday, April 29th at midnight. Good Luck!
