I had the opportunity to preview The Christmas Spectacular starring the World Famous Rockettes that is currently playing at the Citi Perfoming Arts Center in Boston's theatre district. It was amazing. It's truly a show for all ages from the little ones to their great grandmas. The songs are catchy and festive, and the Rockettes are, as expected, mesmerizing.

The sets also delivered more than I expected. Using a multimedia projection, the audience is literally taken on a delightful holiday themed trip through Manhattan. If you weren't in the holiday mood when you arrive, you will for sure be more than festive when you leave.

Macy’s Boston “Light Up the Night” Tree Lighting

Now that the pumpkin pie is out of the way, the Holiday countdown can wholeheartedly begin! If you are in the Boston area tomorrow, head to Downtown Crossing for Macy's Light Up the Night at 5 p.m. for their tree lighting event.

You'll be in good company. Joey McIntyre, Jasmine V and Tedy Bruschi will be special guests to help kick off the tree lighting. After performances by Joey McIntyre and Jasmine V, Santa will flip the switch on the tree and debut the "Yes, Virginia" window scenes.

At 6 p.m., you can venture inside Macy's for opportunities to meet the special guests. Plus the first 250 people to purchase a LaCoste fragrance will get an autograph from Joey McIntyre plus a copy of his new Christmas album, "Come Home for Christmas."

Make A Wish Letters to Santa Program at Macy'sWhile you are at Macy's, don't forget to drop off your letter to Santa. Macy's "Believe" campaign is back for a fourth year (over 4 million letters collected in the first three years). Until December 24, Macy's will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for each letter to Santa that is dropped off at Macy's "Believe Stations." Great fun to benefit a great organization!

Drool Baby Expo Boston Presented by Magic Beans

I love Magic Beans. In fact, I loved Magic Beans way before I was a mom and way before I knew how amazing this little store really was. In case you don't know, Magic Beans is an independent baby gear and toy store with four locations in the Boston area. (Don't live in the Boston area? Shop online at mbeans.com.)

It's the best kind of mom-and-pop type store owned by Sheri and Eli Gurock, literally a mom and a pop. This is evident when you take a look at the neat products that really fit the bill. Parents know what parents (and kids) want and need. Read their story. Visit their stores. Coolidge Corner was their first store, and it's still my favorite. I dare you to go in and *not* find something you or your little one *have* to have.

Beyond my love fest for their stores, Magic Beans has now ventured into hosting an event for new parents (and soon to be parents). They are presenting a new event tomorrow evening called Drool Baby Expo at the Seaport Hotel in Boston. The event will showcase the who's who of baby product manufacturers plus there will be lots of opportunities for attendees to win prizes and go home with a great swag bag.
