Family Fun [and a Boston Giveaway!]

The last few weeks we've really been itching to get out of the house. It's great to have some options for indoor fun when the weather doesn't cooperate. Sometimes it's too cold, sometime's it's too hot, or sometime's it's just a hot mess of rain. (Repeat after me. I LOVE NEW ENGLAND. I LOVE NEW ENGLAND.)

Eversave Boston has an awesome deal for families today through Friday. For $10 you get $20 to spend on bowling at Kings Boston Back Bay or Kings Dedham. The voucher is valid for bowling, shoe rentals and table games at your choice of Kings locations.

Have you been to Kings? The facilities have 20 lanes, three bars, an on-site restaurant and over 30 HD TVs - a little something for everyone. In addition to bowling, your voucher is valid toward shuffleboard at the Dedham location and billiards at the Back Bay venue. The atmosphere is full of fun music and great vibes. The kids will love it. The babies may even sleep through it!

Kings has a 21+ policy after 6 PM, so keep that in mind when you think about when you'll use it. But while this is an awesome idea for the best playgroup event ever, you can also use this voucher for a great date night or mommy's night out event too.

Celebrating Spring Annoucements with Shutterfly

Spring has sprung. Finally.I love all of the seasons, and thank goodness I do since I live here in New England, but this winter has been a loooong one. So with the return of the early morning tweeting birds and the crack of the baseballs, I am more energized and ready to take on new projects.And that's also good, because guess what ya'll (Britney? Is that you?), I have a new project.

Later this month, I'll be launching a new web site called The Field Guide to the First Year (You'll find it here when it launches -http://firstyearfieldguide.com).The First Year Field Guide will be a resource heavy site for moms (and dads!) as they make they way towards and through their first year of parenting. There will be lots of resources for all new parents about products, news, and information that will help make the first year all that it can be, and I'm really excited to build a resource of local companies and services that cater to new parents. The first local field guide will be for Boston and will launch with the main site later this month.

So, speaking of big announcements. I'm not the only one with big announcements. Plenty of moms and mom-to-be's have new little bundles to announce too! I'll be selecting a new parent to receive a great gift from Shutterfly. The winner will get 50 birth announcements!Shutterfly's birth announcements are awesome. I used them when I had my son. They are easy, cute, and look like a million bucks. I've also used Shutterfly to make photo books to give as gifts to the grandparents. Total time saver and they loved them!
